From Korbi : "As promised, after the GOSSIP GIRL panel at TCA — which we live blogged for your reading pleasure — we did in fact storm the stage and attack executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz with your reader questions.

In this first installment of our interrogation, we concentrate on one Mr. Chuck Bass and what he’ll be up to in season 4.

But be sure to come back to GIVE ME MY REMOTE later tonight or early tomorrow for more on the rest of the show’s characters…

So, what can you say about the new season and Chuck’s story?
Stephanie Savage:
We’re really excited about Clemence [Poesy], who plays a character named Eva who comes to us through Chuck’s world. [Clemence] is such a special, special actress and, I think, coming from film and being European, she just has a totally different energy than the rest of the cast and it feels really fresh and exciting when she’s in scenes with these guys — both in Paris and then back in New York.

Do we know how long Clemence (Eva) is sticking around for?
SS: I know how long she’s sticking around for! I don’t want to say exactly how many episodes, because I find that people then count them down in a way that keeps them from really investing in the story, but it’s multiple episodes and she’s someone that we’ve loved working with so much that we’d love to have her back in the future.

Can you say anything about the character’s personality? Will she be likable?
SS:
I think she’s extremely likable. She’s very different than any of the other characters on the show and she comes in as a real outsider to the world — not just like Upper East Side versus Brooklyn but to the whole culture. And she’s a little bit of an innocent who gets schooled pretty hard when she arrives.

Courtesy of Blair, perhaps?
SS:
[Laughs] Perhaps!

We know Chuck is alive, obviously, but is he suffering any repercussions from the shooting?
SS: He has a cane and we will discover that he may have not gotten the best medical care possible after he was found in the alley!

Other than his goings-on with Eva and Blair, what will Chuck be up to? Is he going to hold on to the hotel this year?
SS:
Yes.

Is he going to be going to school at all?
SS:
…interesting question!

Interesting answer… Are you at all surprised about the audience being so drawn to this character, given how sort of complicated he is?
Josh Schwartz:
He’s done some pretty bad things — I think we actually saw him at his lowest at the end of last year — and he’s done some great things. And he’s shown that he’s a real romantic, too. And with an actor like Ed, you have someone who can take you there. You see how charming he is. How do you not love that guy? People find that character fun and enjoy taking the ride.

And how will Blair find that character this season?
JS:
Oh Blair. I get so much enjoyment from Blair Waldorf. You know, her being at NYU was like throwing a fish far, far out of water and I think [now that she's at Columbia] you’ll see Blair with her power back, with her swagger back, you know, back in her game, but still troubled by thoughts of Mr. Bass. The Chuck-Blair relationship, whether they’re together or not — which I’m certainly not going to reveal either way — will always be a huge drive to the show emotionally.

So, yesterday, we laid some Chuck Bass season 4 knowledge on you — straight from the mouths of Gossip Girl producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage — and today, we’re talking Dan… and Georgina and Serena and Vanessa, Nate, Eric and Katie Cassidy’s new character too…

We’re gonna get right into it: Does Georgina’s baby really belong to Dan?
Stephanie Savage:
(Smiles) Georgina’s baby is Georgina’s baby. And you will learn more as the episodes unfold.

We just saw a season 4 promo that showed Dan cradling an infant. Was that Georgina’s baby he was holding?
SS:
That was Georgina’s baby, yes. It was not Dorota’s — I’ve been asked that.

How will you handle the storyline, being that Georgina is a teen mom?
SS:
Well, it’s Georgina, so is she really a teen? (Laughs) I think she might be immortal, maybe she’s like 200 years old… No, on the one hand, there’s a lot of humor coming from these young people trying to deal with this unexpected situation, but there’s also a lot of underlying emotion and heart in this story too. I think it’s a great storyline for Penn [Badgley] and Michelle [Trachtenberg] to do together because they both [are capable of making] this heightened, over-the-top situation feel like something that’s much more grounded and real.

How will Rufus and Lily and the rest of the family take it?
Josh Schwartz:
(Laughs) How do you think they take it? Not terribly well. But Dan is a good guy and he’s going to do the right thing.

What about Serena and Vanessa?
JS:
It’s going to complicate [his relationship with] them. It’s going to be a big source of conflict, especially [concerning] Serena [who is trying to choose] between Nate and Dan.

SS: Serena left in a place of being a little unsure of who she really wanted to be with and that is a question that Blair asks her at the beginning of the first episode. [She says] you can’t go back to New York without making a choice. You know, who knows what the guys are thinking, but what’s in your heart and who do you really want to be with? And that’s something that will occupy quite a bit of Serena’s time as the year goes on.

 And Vanessa?
SS:
Vanessa is back from Haiti and she’s definitely going to be [involved] in the Dan storyline for the first half of the season.

If Georgina’s baby is a complication for Serena and Dan, we can only assume that Katie Cassidy’s character will be a complication for Serena and Nate…
SS:
Katie Cassidy is someone that we’re really excited about. We had this idea for a character that was going to come on and go head-to-head with Serena and Blair and cause a lot of problems and have a romantic relationship with Nate, but we were very concerned about casting because [we didn't know] who we could add to the mix that [would] feel like she’s on the same level as those actors. And Katie just seemed like she’d be able to nail it and she’s doing a great job.

Will her character be playing nice with others?
JS:
Friendly with some, less friendly with others.

How about Eric? With Jenny absent for the first part of the season, will we be seeing him at all?
JS:
I think Eric has developed into a strong character. He was such a key part of the Jenny storyline last year and I think you’ll continue to see him be fleshed out, especially when Jenny returns. That’s when you’ll really see Eric start to come back to the floor.

Any relationship drama for him?
JS:
We’ll continue presenting [Eric dating] in a really honest, forward way."

I can't tell you how happy I am that Jenny will be gone for the first hald of the season !!! And I'm really excited about Clemence Poesy and Katie Cassidy ! And I'm even excited to see the whole Dan-Georgina-baby story (although I believe it's the Russian's or some other guy's baby and not Dan's but whatever).
